Joanne Hilder (She/Her)


Dr Joanne Hilder is a social worker, educator, and researcher with extensive experience across health, mental health, and social work education. With a background in clinical service delivery and research at Gold Coast Health (2010–2025), Joanne has worked closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and professional learning. Currently a Lecturer in Social Work, Joanne’s teaching and research focus on health social work practice, sexual wellness after injury or illness, and how professionals learn through practice. Their work is grounded in qualitative research and aims to produce practical, evidence-informed outcomes that strengthen both education and clinical care. Passionate about collaboration and community engagement, Joanne works with healthcare providers, educators, and community services to promote inclusive, reflective, and research-informed practice in the social work profession.
